...it's been awhile.  Probably close to 2 years since I've last sim raced.  In case you don't remember me, I'm the one that gave TPG a lot of server space for recap videos.  Wink

Reason I had stopped was mostly because of burn out, but also, I wanted to do it for real....and this past season I did a time trailing series (Solo1) on the major tracks around here, including Mosport.  Guess what;  I'm SGT3 Class champ, Toyo Top Novice, and finished overall 18th in the standings (missed 2 first events).  More on that in the "real Racing" forum later.  Grin

I'm looking to get back into some sim racing in the off season to keep my skills sharp...believe it or not, I attribute my real success to my previous 4-5 years of sim racing.  It's a valuable tool to say the least.

The problem;  It's been so long I don't even know where the start anymore with patchs, tricks, etc.  I haven't had any sim installed on my PC in almost 2 years....couldn't even find my GTR2 DVD yesterday.  Sad  I think my PC is still capable to run things fairly good (AMD 6000+ CPU, ATI x850XT 256MB video, 2 GB DDR RAM) but I'll have to catch up on all the latest tricks to get things running good again.  So if you see me asking questions, please help.  Grin

We haven't met but welcome back RVachon  thumbs

Of course sim racing ups your skills for real racing. I wish I'd had more sim racing experience under my belt before I got into a real racing car.

Once you find your GTR2 DVD, check our league site for some very handy addons & tweaks http://spazworld.com/tpgracing/ . We're only about 3 races into both of our racing series so far this season. All the info. and signup directions are here at the TPG forum site. The new seasons will be starting around the first of the year.

Hey Ray...welcome back!  And congrats on your RL success!  Good stuff!

As the others said.....you'll be fine...visit the forums....we're running 2 GTR2 based series on Sat nights starting at 1920 EST!  A Rolex series with GT's and DP's and a WSC (World Sports Car) Championship running LMP1 and 2 cars!  So...pick your poison!  Sports cars or Protoypes?  Either or both...we'd love to have you back racing with us!

Post away and you're sure to get some answers....some you may like...and others...well...heh...you know the drill!

Again...welcome back and I look forward to seeing you on track with us again soon!

Ray we welcome you home with open arms my friend.

In case everybody does not know... Ray donated server space to us video folk to house our projects.

If anybody would like to check out the archives, many of the videos are still there.

Check some of them out if you are so inclined.

Got my Simpros pedals & TSW wheel out of the storage area, plugged everything in, and the only thing working right is the wheel.  The pedal signals are bouncing all over the place & unusable.  Roll Eyes  I'm going to try & get some contact cleaner first before I spend $50 on new ETI pots.  Not off to a good start. Sad
